Do you have a bag fetish, or am I the only one?

I don't think I'm the only person that has "a thing" for bags. I'm not just talking about purses, I'm talking about every kind of bag imaginable.

And truth be told, I don't see bags as just a fashion statement. I see bags as a fun (and necessary) thing to have for every aspect of my life.

Bags are like t-shirts...you can really tell something about a person by the bag they're carrying (especially if they have "Best Dad" printed on it) and you simply can't have just one bag.

Like t-shirts, you definitely need more than one...or several.

I have two bags for work. One that's a more sophisticated laptop bag that I use when I meet with clients. A soft pink bag that gets many female coworkers asking me where I got it. And another heavy duty laptop backpack that was my 16 year old son's bag from many years ago. That bag was an impulse buy based on a YouTuber who is not carrying that "cool" clout anymore. I still like it and it serves its purpose. (Plus I paid way more than it is probably worth so I am going to get my money’s worth!)

I also have an array of pencil bags, bags for my stickers (I'm an avid stationery junkie as well), art supply bags, duffel bags, canvas tote bags...the list goes on. I even have a tote bag with snowflakes printed all over it that has a large jingle bell attached to the handle that joyously announces every step I take when I carry it. Yeah, kind of silly but it brings me joy.

And, as odd as it may sound, each bag has a story.

And the thing about having all of these bags is that I use them on a regular basis. Many of them serve a specific purpose (like those pencil and art bags). But many of the bags I own serve various purposes.

In our environment-conscious world, reusing bags makes sense so I take them to farmer's markets, grocery stores, flea market, and even my mom's house (she's 93 years old and I love taking goodies to her).

And, as odd as it may sound, each bag has a story. And many memories. One of my favorites is a beach bag I own with a Hawaiian print that I got for a past vacation. It reminds me about the trip I purchased it for. That bag probably still has grains of sand from the many beach adventures it's been on over the years!

Something that really expressed who I am.

So not only do I have a passion for bags, I was often disappointed when I didn't find what I was looking for. Something that really expressed who I am.

I would go on larger websites and I peruse through their bags but they didn't have quite what I was looking for. Something unique. Something that was created, rather than manufactured -- if that makes sense.

So that brings me to the point of this blog. And why I opened my own business... making bags.
